08/12/19 Yatta! This will go down in my HOF for sushi rolls. Scallop Volcano - a California roll base with creamy bay scallop with spicy sauce. There is just an abundance of tasteful yumminess that will make your tastebuds extremely jubilant. Warning: this dish is def on the creamy side so vet move will be to ask for a spoon to scoop these heavyweight rolls. The amount of creaminess from the spicy mayo sauce (I think that’s what it is, but we can just refer to it as LAVA), and Sriracha + the scallop marshmallows, using chopsticks will just create a disaster. This thing falls apart with ease due to the amount of lava bursting and the molten rocks (scallops) flowing out. The rolls are massive, so to ensure you get the full home run, you’ll ought to be on team big bites for this one. If this place was an AYCE I’d order like 6 of these and just chill and crush. But, we all know those AYCE sushi spots don’t possess the quality like this place does. Crazy Sushi Shoten both hands all the way down is my favorite place for specialty sushi rolls. I’ve yet to have better chef specialty rolls elsewhere. All they’re rolls are humongous, creative, taste outstanding, and presented properly. Big props to the sushi chefs here for knowing what time it is. This new trendy style restaurant is hip, gets busy, carries plenty of options on their menu, and most importantly is GOOD. Their fish is fantastic, the octopus is chewy great, and their noodle bowls are worth adding on the side, but it’s really about their sushi. I’ve tried a bunch of their rolls and they’re all very very big time. It’ll erupt your mind.
