Rossi's Deli is right across the street from the historic Castro Theatre on Castro street. We bought some sandwiches here just before hiking to the top of Twin Peaks. It's a family owned business and they have been going strong for the past 40 years. The place offers nothing in terms of an exterior store front but the sandwiches on the inside are among the best in the city. They make a turkey and avocado sandwich that they call the Avogobble and it's something everyone should experience. For $8.95, you get a huge sandwich with freshly roasted turkey (they roast it daily), avocado, lettuce, onions, your pick of mustard, bread, and cheese. All of the ingredients are fresh and perfectly assembled. The sandwich is a bargain. The service is excellent. You will love this place!
