Sam Jones BBQ, nestled in Eastern NC, is one of my favorite BBQ spots in NC. It has great chopped pork, spare ribs, and sides. These smoked-then-fried wings are my favorite thing on the menu, though. The wings are smoked in the restaurants huge smokehouse and the smoke imparts a distinct wood fired taste, as well as a slight sweetness. They are then fried to a nice crispiness and seasoned. You can get them tossed in buffalo or BBQ sauce, but I usually get sauce on the side because these wings are so great on their own. You can't go wrong with anything that comes out of Sam Jones' smokehouse, but these wings are a must-order.
