Serious Pie and Biscuits is one of the many Tom Douglas restaurants in Seattle and it has one of my favorite comfort dishes. They specialize in pizzas and biscuits at this location.
This dish starts with a flaky buttermilk biscuit sandwiching a perfectly cooked piece of fried chicken. They lather it with a Tabasco, black pepper gravy. That's the regular version. But you want "The Zach" which is where they add a fried egg and bacon. With this option, it should come with a defibrillator. Every component is done well and it just satisfies. I almost asked for a straw for my remaining gravy.
We also had a fennel sausage and pepper pizza that was excellent.
I was remiss in not trying the Coconut pie, as another reviewer has recommended. But that will give me a better excuse to go again soon.
